[ Nima raises a $9.2 million Series A funding ]

Nima  has raised $9.2 million in a round led by led by Foundry Group with participation from Upfront Ventures, SoftTech VC, SK Ventures, Lemnos Labs, and Matt Rogers, the founder of Nest.

Founded in 2013, Nima  is developing a mobile app connected portable sensor that detects gluten in foodcan test foods ranging from soups and sauces to fried items and baked goods.

The company plans on using the influx of cash to accelerate the development and release of sensors that will detect peanuts and milk, allowing consumers to test food for hidden ingredients that the user could be allergic too.
